Designed to thread straight or tapered pipes, the RIDGID 161 Receding Geared Threading Machine uses just one set of factory set high-speed dies to deliver superior precision when cutting pipes ranging from 4 inches to 6 inches (100 mm to 150 mm) in diameter. The RIDGID pipe threader 161 model was built to quickly thread either stationary or rotating pipes and is ideal for use in both straight (NPSM) and tapered (NPT with 8 TPI) right-hand threading applications.

This versatile receding geared pipe threader can be adjusted for different thread sizes and types and is capable of being powered by hand or with a variety of RIDGID threading machines and power drives. A cam-type work holder facilitates the change in thread size and sets instantly while a clutch helps prevent jamming at the end of the thread.
